Minty goodness provided by ASOS.com

I just recently discovered this wonderful online shop called ASOS.com that is based in the UK. This online shop is great for many reasons. For one thing, they are known for carrying a large selection of pieces that are inspired by celebrity looks, but at an affordable price. Secondly, I’m just in awe at how many beautiful dresses they have. I feel that I could personally wear almost EVERYTHING that they carry (which is very rare).  The dresses are very trendy, but also very sophisticated. You can find a perfect one for work, to go out or just for a fun party. And like I said before, the prices are not bad at all. So you can snatch a few up easily. Plus they are having a great summer sale right now too! Another great thing is that they carry some great designers like French Connection, Diesel, Dolce Vita, Joie, Juicy Couture, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Paul & Joe, William Rast and so many other brands (many of my favorite designers). Lastly, they offer a $6 flat rate standard shipping fee. Which is pretty awesome.

The only thing is that I’m not quite sure what size I wear in the UK. I heard that you are suppose to go 2 sizes up from what you normally wear in the US, but I find that sizing chart for ASOS is much smaller then what it normally is in the US. So I definitely think that it is important for you to make sure you know what size you wear before ordering, so that you don’t have to mess with shipping it back if it doesn’t fit. Good news though! I heard that ASOS is opening a US online shop in September, so it won’t be that big of a deal if you have to return anything and I am sure they will make a US sizing chart.

Well on to the main attraction! I’ve been on this teal/mint kick this summer. I am loving everything teal or mint shade. Especially with nail polishes! I’m sure you have been seeing a lot of that around. I really in love with Chanel’s “Nouvelle Vague”, but it’s sold out everywhere.

Beautiful isn’t it? This picture is from MarianKihogo.com and the bottom ones from Cafemakeup.com.  I think it would look awesome on your toes too!

I will have to try that next, but I can’t get over my OPI “It’s Toe-Tally Summer”.  My favorite summer pink!

Or OPI “I’m India-Mood For Love”.

Back to the main point. Here are a few absolutely gorgeous mint dresses from ASOS.com. Enjoy!

The first one is by Rare and it’s called the “Opulence Ruffle Bandeau Dress“. It is a has a beautiful corset like top that is a bandeau style with a little sweetheart neckline. Aside from the gorgeous color, the ruffles in the skirt portion is absolutely breathtaking! Can’t you imagine wearing this to a special event like a wedding or a special date night? LOVE LOVE! And I also think the shoes are perfect for this dress. I recommend a beautiful cream/beige or blush color sandal for all of these dresses (expect for the last two). I think simple is best with this dress. Since there is so much going on already with the beautiful skirt. Maybe some gold bangles or a beautiful cocktail ring and diamond stud earrings. A great simple gold clutch would compliment the dress really well.

The second one is a more vibrant Mint color. It is ASOS PREMIUM “Tulip Corsage One Shoulder Dress“.  It is a beautiful one shoulder, empire waist dress with beautiful pleats and an oversized corsage with ruffled rosettes. So pretty! It’s such a great statement piece. Great for a lavish wedding or special occasion! With this dress I feel that you don’t need any jewelry at all since there is already so much going on with the dress. You don’t want to overwhelm your figure with too much clutter. Some simple stud earrings would be nice, along with a beautiful cocktail ring.

Here it is in Nude so you can get an idea of what it looks like from head to toe.

The next one is a bit more casual. It’s called ASOS “Jersey Ruch Detail Bandeau Dress“. It’s a very simple summer dress, perfect for day of shopping or to wear to the beach. The bandeau top just gives the dress a sweet and fun feel. Would be great paired with some fun gold bangles and simple gold necklace. As well as a pair of tan wedges or gold/tan/nude gladiator sandals and of course some large black sunglasses!

And lastly, the Motel “Contrast Top 2-In-1 Dress“.  This dress has a black fitted pencil high waisted skirt. The top is a beautiful Mint built in loose fitting scoop neck tank. This is great for a night out with your girl friends or on a date night. So sexy! Would be great paired with black platform sandals or pumps and a clutch.

Well that is it for today! I hope you enjoyed the post as much as I loved putting it together! I can’t wait to put in my first order from ASOS.com. I will definitely do a posting when I do of how everything turns out.

Love,

K

July Faves: Fun skirts

Lately I’ve been really loving cute short summery printed skirts. I like to wear them with a cute pair of wedge or gladiator sandals. I think they are a summer essential. You can easily dress them up with a cute blouse or go casual with a plain v-neck tee or tank.

I think the print on this skirt is absolutely gorgeous. I love all the colors. It reminds me of an abstract piece of art. This blouse is such a beautiful purple and it adds color without taking away focus from the skirt. Perfect for a night out with some black peep toe pumps or sandals.

Delia's Lacey Ikat Print Skirt

This floral tiered skirt is so feminine and pretty.  This blouse just adds to flowy feel of the skirt. I think it would be great to wear this to any summer get together. You can throw on a cardigan to dress it up even more with some great wedges or a jean jacket and cowboy style boots for another fun look.

I paired this pink top to this skirt to add a burst of color to such a simple yet bold print on the skirt. I especially love the gray detailing on the bands of the top. I think it will complement the gray in the skirt very well. Don’t you just love the cute girlie bow on the skirt too? Fun for day or night! Pair it with some simple black pumps or sandals.

This is a more casual look. Just perfect for a weekend shopping outing. You can definitely wear this with some cute gladiator sandals or a cute pair of wedges or black pumps for a dressier look. The skirt is so light and feminine, but the tee gives it a more casual feel. I love J.Crews Vintage tees! They are so soft.

Deila's Paris Floral Bubble Skirt

A very fun and causal nautical theme! Perfect for a weekend at the beach or lake! It’s fun to wear stripes like this right now, but you don’t want to go overboard with the whole nautical theme. This tank is just casual enough, but it also has this big fun pocket. I love pockets! Pockets on skirts, pockets on tees! I love them all! Those cute peep toe boots are pretty awesome too! Just gives the look a tougher feel. If you want more of a summer casual look, go for gladiator sandals or some tan/black wedges. Also the skirt comes with a cute braided belt!

Also I love throwing over a cardigan for when it gets chiller at night. I like to wear longer cardigans over my skirts for a dressier look. You can also cinch you cardigan over your skirt with a cute belt. Here are a few ideas from Express.com.

Here are some cute sandals that I think would look great with these skirts.

More dressy ones.
